Mini Split Questions — Answered

A single-zone install typically runs $4,000–$7,000 installed, depending on the brand, capacity, and complexity of the run. Multi-zone systems with multiple indoor heads cost more. We give you a flat, written quote during the free estimate — no surprises.
One head can comfortably condition one open room or a small area. If you want independent control in different rooms — or want to heat and cool a whole house — you'll want a multi-zone system with one head per zone. We'll walk the home and recommend a layout during the estimate.
In most Portland homes, yes. Modern cold-climate mini splits handle our winters effectively, even in single-digit temperatures. Some homeowners keep a gas furnace as backup for the coldest snaps, but it's rarely required in the Willamette Valley.
Single-zone installs are usually completed in one day. Multi-zone systems with three or more heads may take two days depending on the routing and electrical work involved.
